APRIL 18, 2018 — WASD has once again been recognized as one of the Best Communities for Music Education from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education.
APRIL 17, 2018 — The Williamsport Area School Board continued its annual Outstanding Student presentations tonight. The presentations, which will continue over the next several school board meetings, honor students who exemplify academic excellence and school citizenship from the top grade at each building.
APRIL 16, 2018 — The Williamsport Area High School has opened registration for a free, four-day summer workshop for students interested in further developing their artistic talent.
APRIL 11, 2018 — The WASD Education Foundation announced the launch of its new website today. The website was built using the latest design features with a more responsive interface.
APRIL 10, 2018 — WAHS senior Cameron Dickey was honored at Pennsylvania College of Technology recently for placing fifth in The American Welding Society's Welding Competition, which was held on the Penn College campus
APRIL 6, 2018 — WAHS will compete on the Tuesday, April 10, episode of WVIA’s Scholastic Scrimmage against Selinsgrove High School. The episode airs at 7:30 p.m. on WVIA.
MARCH 26, 2018 — The Lycoming County Commissioners, in collaboration with the Lycoming County Early Learning Team, recently provided funding to give free access to ReadyRosie for all families living in Lycoming County.
MARCH 21, 2018 — WASD will hold screening interviews later this spring for qualified candidates for open teaching positions for the 2018-2019 school year.
MARCH 21, 2018 — The Williamsport Area School District Maintenance and Facilities Department has placed items on Municibid.com, an online government auction website. The used and/or unwanted items posted are open for public bid.
MARCH 8, 2018 — WAHS held its first-ever career fair for students today. With representatives from more than 50 industries in attendance, giving students an opportunity to explore their post-secondary opportunities.
MARCH 2, 2018 — The WASD Education Foundation will once again participate in Raise the Region, the 30-hour online fundraising event hosted by the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania.
MARCH 2, 2018 — Due to meet the halfway mark later this month, the WASD Education Foundation provided an update on its 2017-2018 Annual Campaign, announcing it has raised $21,996, or about 73 percent, of its $30,000 challenge goal.
MARCH 1, 2018 — In celebration of National Youth Art Month and Music in Our Schools Month, Andrew G. Curtin Intermediate School will host its third AGC YAM JAM from 5-8 p.m. on March 16.
MARCH 1, 2018 — Williamsport Area School Board member Spencer Sweeting ’01 visited both Cochran and Stevens Primary schools on Feb. 28, speaking to students about the Underground Railroad and Williamsport’s participation.
