WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.  (JANUARY 8, 2024) — The Williamsport Area School District Education Foundation (WASDEF) is pleased to announce Larson Design Group (LDG) as the returning corporate partner for its 2024 Employee Giving Campaign.

The campaign, launched today, encourages district employees to consider enrolling in an ongoing payroll deduction program or making a one-time contribution to support the district’s nonprofit affiliate.

LDG has reaffirmed its commitment by pledging to match up to $5,000 on any new or increased annual pledge made through the payroll deduction program until Feb. 2.

“LDG is proud to continue our support to WASD and the Williamsport community,” said David Martin, LDG president and CEO. “Our dedication to charitable giving echoes our belief in the transformative power of education for shaping a better world.” 

“We are extremely grateful for LDG’s continued commitment to this annual campaign,” said WASDEF Executive Director Greg Hayes. “With these matching dollars, we have the opportunity to amplify the impact of every new and increased pledge from our employees participating in our payroll deduction program. This collective effort increases the foundation’s ability to channel these contributions back into our schools to advance educational experiences and opportunities for students.”

The foundation’s employee giving campaign raised $7,167 in new and increased commitments in 2023. The total contributions received by the foundation through its payroll program at the end of the foundation’s last fiscal year amounted to $12,949, a 14% increase from the previous year.

District employees who enroll in the program can choose to support the foundation’s Annual Fund, Teacher Mini-Grant Program Fund, or both.

“We like to say it’s one of the easiest ways to give,” Hayes said. “A small bi-weekly contribution deducted from each paycheck, at a $1 minimum, can add up to make a huge difference within the larger volume of support.”

During its last fiscal year, WASDEF generated $214,971 in total revenue, and provided more than $172,000 in grants and scholarships.
