Transportation

The Pupil Transportation Department provides busing to and from school for more than 4,500 students who live within the 100-square-mile radius of the Williamsport Area School District. We provide transportation service to eight public schools, three BLaST IU schools and 10 non-public schools.

Busing is provided to all eligible students.  Students in grades K-6 are eligible for busing if they reside more than 1.5 miles from their school, and more than 2 miles for those students in grades 7-12. Bus stops are located within 1.5 miles of the child's residence.

Annual notices are sent home each August to students who qualify for transportation. The notice includes bus number assignments, bus stop locations and pick-up and drop-off times.

The Williamsport Area School District follows the guidelines established by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
