Socktober Woodlands Bank Donation

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (NOVEMBER 17, 2023) — Wrapping up its ninth annual Socktober last month, Curtin Intermediate School announced it has reached a milestone: more than 50,000 pairs of socks have been collected since the drive first began in 2014.

Sock contributions made to the school throughout October aim to support various nonprofit organizations across Lycoming County that serve populations facing homelessness.

Anna Radspinner, Curtin’s orchestra teacher and coordinator of the sock drive each year, is grateful for the extra efforts from the community.

“Because of our families and places like Lycoming County United Way, Little League International, Tasseron Sensors, Woodlands Bank and Lycoming Valley Intermediate School, all of these donations will go to Family Promise, Sojourner Truth Ministries, YWCA Northcentral PA, American Rescue Workers, West End Christian Community Center and other WASD schools to fulfill our mission of entering to learn and going forth to serve.”

The Socktober movement began in 2012 by Kid President and Soul Pancake to help the homeless around the U.S.
