WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (SEPTEMBER 7, 2022) — Young leaders at Williamsport Area High School are selected each year to serve as school board student representatives.

This year’s student representatives, seniors Sydney Crews and Michael Harry, are active in their school community, playing roles in everything from National Honor Society to clubs, robotics and more.

In their role as representatives, the two will provide regular updates to the school board at each meeting throughout the 2022-2023 school year about what is happening "on the hill," spotlighting news in the areas of athletics, academics, events and student life.

Crews is the president of the WAHS chapter of the National Honor Society, a soon-to-be nominee for this year's Flaming Foliage and plays on the girls basketball team. She also carries a course load that includes AP Statistics, AP Language and Composition, AP Business Law, and enrolled in Engineering and Robotics in the school's Career and Technical Education Program. She's on track for early admission to Rochester Institute of Technology where she plans to study industrial engineering.

Harry is a member of the school's improv troupe, "Without a Cue," and the all-male musical ensemble GQ. A 2022 National Honor Society inductee, his course load also includes AP Biology and AP Music Theory. He has aspirations to attend Howard University to study music education or journalism.

The two provided their first presentation to the school board during the Sept. 6 meeting, during which they provided a recap on the first week of school and upcoming events.
