2022 Graduation Cap Throw

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (JUNE 9, 2022) — Williamsport Area High School’s 2021-2022 academic year has just ended, and what a year it was.

Tonight, 321 graduates proudly celebrated their achievements and received their diplomas during the high school’s 151st commencement ceremony.

Those in attendance had the privilege of hearing commencement speeches made by members of the senior class — Kydreece Burks and Cameron Sims.  Each delivered a message set to a theme based on a quote by Dr. Emmett Brown from “Back to the Future,” “Your future hasn’t been written yet, no one’s has. Your future is whatever you make it, so make it a good one.”

In addition, Class President Teagan Marty also made remarks.

Kendall Kelley and Johanna Baker were named salutatorian and valedictorian, respectively. Among the more than $85,000 awarded to members of the class in scholarships, awards and prizes, $61,595 was granted to 87 graduates from 113 funds held at the Williamsport Area School District Education Foundation. In addition, this year’s high school retirees were acknowledged and honored for their service to the district and its students over the years.
