WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (JUNE 11, 2021) — Williamsport Area High School's 2020-2021 academic year has just ended, and what a year it was.
On Thursday night, 297 graduates proudly celebrated their achievements and received their diplomas.
Those in attendance had the privilege of hearing commencement speeches made by members of the senior class — Maya Trump and Jaiden Kinley. Each delivered a message set to a theme based on the Brené Brown quote, "One day you will tell your story of how you overcame what you went through and it will be someone else's survival guide."
In addition, Class President Zola Daverio also made remarks.
Among the numerous awards, prizes, scholarships and honors received by the class, Michael Cendoma and Michael Fisher were named salutatorian and valedictorian, respectively. In addition, this year’s high school retirees were acknowledged and honored for their service to the district and its students over the years.
