WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (MAY 12, 2022) — Four seniors in Williamsport Area High School’s construction trades program were recognized this morning by industry professionals for their work ethic and future commitment to the field.

The Pennsylvania Builders Association presented Ethan Young with a $250 award and certificate for his exceptional performance in the high school program.

Young also received, along with classmate Warren Robinson, a cash prize and a four-foot wood level with a brass plate with their name and award title on it from the West Branch Susquehanna Builders Association (WBSBA) to recognize them as program standouts.

According to teacher Randy Williamson, the two were selected for exemplifying the qualities highly valued among leaders in the construction field: an enthusiastic willingness to learn, a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a determination to seek employment in the construction industry.

In addition, Brent Foster and James Hoffman from BSF Contracting and Eagle Construction, respectively, provided both Marianna Johnson and Isaiah Longo with two $200 gift cards to Harbor Freight, donated through the WBSBA.

The two plan to go directly into the field after graduation, and the gift cards were given to help them buy any needed equipment for when they begin work.

Construction trades is one of the 15 workforce development courses made available to WAHS students through the high school's Career and Technical Education program.
