On December 30th, 1984, a star was born. And that star was born in Akron, Ohio. Lebron Raymone James was born in Akron, Ohio to his 16 year old mother Gloria James. From early on in his life, Lebron and his mother suffered from unstable housing, as his father was absent through his entire life. Lebron found a father figure in Franklin Walker, a youth football coach who helped a young Lebron by providing Lebron with a stable home for some time.
From a young age, Lebron James showed incredible athleticism. While he originally was interested in football, Lebron found himself obsessed with basketball. This interest in basketball would lead him through his middle school and high school years. Lebron didnt know it then, but this interest in basketball would lead him to become the most successful and greatest basketball player the world had ever seen.

Lebron's high-school career would cement him as the most hyped up NBA prospect while still being in high-school. At the start of his freshman career, Lebron wasted no time joining his school's varsity team, being accepted into the team at just 14 years old. That same year, he led his school to a 27-0 undefeated state championship, averaging over 18 points a game. This level of domination wouldn't go unnoticed, as almost immediately Lebron was recognized as one of the nations top freshman players. Lebron wouldn't end his legacy here, as in the very next year Lebron would find himself already labeled as the best high-school basketball players in the country, and being scouted by major colleges and NBA teams. His sophomore year justified all this attention, as Lebron James absolutely dominated the game averaging a mind-blowing 25.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 3.8 steals per game, winning his second straight state title.
Junior Year.
His junior year displayed the same amount of domination as his sophomore year, as he led his school to its third state championship, finishing 23-4. Averaging 29.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 3.3 steals per game, it was no surprise that Lebron began playing in nationally televised games, though it was something rarely achieved by any high-school athlete at the time. Lebron was also the first junior to ever be named USA Today High School Player of the Year, and his junior year was also the year Sports Illustrated put him on the front cover of their magazine and gave him the still iconic nickname "The Chosen One." His junior year was so impressive that he was already being compared to NBA stars like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Magic Johnson.
Senior Year and Pre- NBA.
His senior year was the perfect close to his sheer domination during his highschool years, and left the NBA antsy for his arrival to the NBA. Averaging 30.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 2.9 steals per game, his games had to be moved to the University of Akron Ohio due to his sheer amount of fans Lebron had accrued during his 4 years of highschool. His senior year was so impressive that ESPN had broadcasted some his games on national TV. Finishing off his senior year, Lebron had managed to gather an unimaginable amount of awards. He had won three state championships in 4 years, became the first high school player ever to be named to the All-NBA Team Parade three times, was named Gatorade National Player of the Year for the second year in a row, and was also selected for the McDonald’s All-American Game. It's no suprise that Lebron went straight from graduation to the NBA Draft, and in 2003, Lebron Raymone James was drafted number #1 overall in the NBA Draft, and packed up his things to head to Cleveland, being drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Lebron's highschool career not only showed evidence of his domination for years to come, but also set him in stone as one of the most nationally watched and most accomplished highschool athlete's the world would ever see.
