Food Bank

WAHS Food Pantry

.
At Williamsport Area High School, we understand that success in the classroom begins with having the energy and nourishment to learn. That’s why the WAHS Library is home to our Food Bank — a welcoming and caring resource designed to support students and families who may need a little extra help with food over the weekend.
The WAHS Food Bank provides students with a convenient and discreet way to receive nutritious meals to take home each week. Students who wish to participate can sign up through the Counseling Office to be added to our list. Once enrolled, students can pick up their food bag on Thursday afternoons. Each bag includes food for dinner on Friday, breakfast and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast and dinner on Sunday — offering reliable meals to help students and their families enjoy the weekend with one less worry.
Every week, our team of staff and volunteers carefully prepares food bags with a variety of items to meet the needs of our students. From easy-to-make meals and snacks to breakfast essentials and pantry staples, the goal of our food bank is to provide nourishment, comfort, and care in a way that supports the whole student.
Our librarians and counseling staff work together to make this process simple, confidential, and welcoming for everyone. Students can visit the Counseling Office at any time to sign up or ask questions about how to receive a weekly backpack of food. There’s no judgment, no barriers — just a caring community that wants to make sure every student has what they need to thrive.
At WAHS, we believe that no student should ever go hungry. The Food Bank represents our school’s commitment to kindness, dignity, and support for every member of our student body. Together, we are creating a stronger, more compassionate community — one meal, one student, and one act of care at a time.
