Emissions Inspection Training Program

This program provides the theory of state-wide emissions inspection procedures and tests required for the PA Enhanced Emissions Inspection Certification. This training is mandated by PennDOT for all inspectors and automotive repair technicians conducting emissions inspections. Applicant must complete the lecture course and pass a written and computerized test.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must be 18 years of age
  • Applicant must have a valid state photo driver’s license

Safety Inspection Training Program

WAHS's Automotive Program offers a Pennsylvania training program and test required for technicians to receive their state inspection license. Applicant must complete the lecture course, pass a written test and satisfactorily perform a complete inspection of a vehicle. Upon successful completion of these requirements, the applicant will receive a safety inspection certification card in approximately six to eight weeks from the ending class date. An optional three-hour tools class that provides hands-on use of measuring tools used for the state inspection is also available.

Requirements: 

  • Applicant must be 18 years of age
  • Applicant must have a valid state driver’s license
  • Applicant must have an understanding of basic auto mechanics, including brakes and alignment to succeed in this program
