WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (DECEMBER 18, 2025) — Williamsport Area High School students surpassed their fundraising goal following a student-led Make-A-Wish Benefit Concert held Wednesday evening in the WAHS auditorium.

The family-friendly concert, organized by four student directors and featuring nearly 40 student volunteer performers, raised $15,370 to benefit Make-A-Wish. The total exceeded the students’ $15,000 fundraising goal, with donations continuing to be accepted through the beginning of the new year.

Two of the student directors, Maddie Fausnaught and Maddie Heller, are former Make-A-Wish recipients who helped lead the effort as a way to give back and support local children facing critical illnesses.

The concert highlighted student leadership and collaboration, while showcasing a variety of musical performances choreographed by WAHS senior Sophia Lepley. The successful event reflected months of student planning, rehearsals and community outreach.

Proceeds from the concert will support granting life-changing wishes to local children facing illness through Make-A-Wish. Donations in support of the student-led fundraiser remain available online through the beginning of the new year by clicking here.
