WASD Bids Farewell to 28 Retirees in Video Tribute

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (JUNE 11, 2025) — As the Williamsport Area School District eyes the end of another school term, it pledged its farewell to 28 retirees.
In a video tribute, administrators and supervisors said goodbye to this year's class of retirees, who, together, represent a combined 550+ years of experience.
Those retiring this year:
- Laurie Ault, food service, Hepburn-Lycoming Primary, 14 years
- Julie Caringi, social worker, WAHS, 9 years
- David Cendoma, custodian, Jackson Primary, 12 years
- Sharon Duck, confidential secretary, District Service Center, 32 years
- Nancie English, aide, Lycoming Valley Intermediate, 2 years
- Robert Emerick, custodian, Cochran Primary, 20 years
- Michelle Fair, head custodian, Jackson Primary, 27 years
- Tom Fink, general maintenance, districtwide, 23 years
- Marie Fox, teacher, WAHS, 29 years
- Rhonda Getgen, teacher, Cochran Primary, 25 years
- Earl Goode, custodian, WAHS, 5 years
- Tom Griffith, intervention specialist, WAHS, 3 years
- Cynthia Hamm, teacher, WAMS, 28 years
- Joanne Hecknauer, administrative support, District Service Center, 7 years
- Bernie Hess, library aide, Jackson Primary, 32 years
