WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (SEPTEMBER 9, 2025) — The Williamsport Area School Board named Brandy N. Smith as the district’s next business administrator, effective Dec. 1.
Smith will succeed Wanda M. Erb, who will retire in January after seven years with the district and more than three decades in public education and school business management.
Smith comes to Williamsport from Montoursville Area School District, where she has served as business manager for 10 years.
She brings extensive experience in school business operations and educational leadership. She holds a post-master’s certificate in educational leadership from the University of Phoenix, an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in business.
A Pennsylvania Certified School Business Administrator, Smith also holds a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Superintendent Commission Qualification Letter. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials and the Association of School Business Officials International.
Outside of her professional work, Smith volunteers with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs and serves on the Homeowner Support Committee for Habitat for Humanity. She also serves on the Operating Committee and chairs the Curriculum Committee for Leadership Lycoming.
“I’m honored to join the Williamsport Area School District team as business administrator,” Smith said. “I look forward to working with district staff and the community to promote financial stewardship, enhance operational efficiency and support the district’s mission of developing responsible citizens through excellence in education.”
“We’re excited to have Brandy join our leadership team,” said Superintendent Timothy S. Bowers, Ed.D. “Her expertise and leadership in school business management will be instrumental in guiding the district’s financial operations to ensure continued financial strength and stability.”
