Our School Day
Here is important information about our school’s schedule, as well as where and when children can access and exit the building.
Students must remain outside until first bell unless it is raining or there is extremely cold weather. For this reason, students should not arrive at school before 8:45 a.m.
Daily Schedule
8:50 a.m.
Students may enter the building
9:05 a.m.
Opening bell—classes begin
11:30 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
Rotating schedule for recess and lunch
Various times
Afternoon recess
3:35 p.m.
Closing bell—classes end, students are dismissed
Arrival and Departure
Teachers will escort students to the exit doors and keep an eye on them as they go outside.
Students arriving after 9:05 a.m. will be marked tardy and should report to the office with an adult for a tardy slip to take back to class.
Adapted Schedule
2-hour delay schedule - classes will begin at 11:05 a.m.
Early dismissal - 1-hour early dismissal will be 2:35 p.m.; 2-hour early dismissal will be 1:35 p.m.
Half-day dismissal - 12:05 p.m.

Any student who is eligible for school bus transportation will be assigned to a bus and will receive a letter which will include the bus number, bus stop location and pick-up and drop-off times.
Please contact the Pupil Transportation Department at 570-326-0671, ext 10013, if you have any questions about your bus letter or you did not receive one.
School Wide Positive Behavior
Jackson Primary School implements school wide positive behavior (SWPB) principles which recognize and reinforce the school district’s behavioral expectations for all students. Student expectations are the 4 Bs:
