Stevens Primary School
Closure of Stevens Primary School
On Feb. 1, 2022, the Williamsport Area School Board approved setting a public hearing to discuss the future of Stevens Primary School.
On May 17, 2022, the WASD school board voted unanimously to close Stevens Primary School, effective June 30, 2022.
The closure comes after thorough and careful review of option presented to the district and school board as part of the district-wide feasibility study.
As we look ahead at what’s next, we plan to present the new boundaries for our primary buildings during our Tuesday, June 7, school board meeting. Following that meeting, we’ll plan to send correspondence to families affected by Stevens’ closure, notifying them of the anticipated change of their child’s home school. Any notification regarding transportation will be sent later in the summer when we traditionally send out bussing information for the new school year.
