WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (JANUARY 5, 2022) — The Williamsport Area School District Education Foundation released its 2020-2021 Annual Report today, which highlights the organization’s key activities between July 1, 2020, and June 30, 2021.

“While the 2020-2021 school year presented unique challenges in navigating the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation remained dedicated to the trusted stewardship of our loyal donors and community partners,” state President Dr. Brooke Beiter and Executive Director Greg Hayes in their joint opening letter.

Grants awarded to WASD programming and projects from the nonprofit during its latest fiscal year totaled $373,689. Grants supported enhancements to the district’s academic, cultural, and athletic programs. The foundation also provided 150 scholarships to 84 graduating students. Total revenue, including in-kind donations and annual pledge payments, totaled $198,278 from among more than 370 donors.

The report also highlights the impact of Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program contributions the district received from businesses through the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania. Through that program, $36,320 in business donations were received from Citizens & Northern Bank, First National Bank of PA, M&T Bank and Woodlands Bank.
