WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (October 2, 2026) — Williamsport Area School District officially opened its new Millionaire Legacy Center on Friday, September 25, during its Homecoming football game. Community members, school officials, students, contractors, and local government representatives gathered to celebrate the completion of the facility as part of the district’s Homecoming festivities.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held prior to the game, marking the culmination of a construction project designed to create additional space for community events, student learning, and engagement.
Dr. Tim Bowers, superintendent of Williamsport Area School District, recognized the many individuals and organizations whose efforts helped bring the project to completion.
“It is amazing to me what can be accomplished when a determined group of individuals come together and simply make it happen,” Bowers said. “This project would not have been possible without the support of our Board of Directors, our architects, Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates, our contractors, Lobar, Inc., Hosler Enterprise, Silvertip, Inc., Turnkey Electric, Inc., and LIVIC Civil, as well as our project manager, Dale Crans.”
The Millionaire Legacy Center is designed to serve both the school district and the greater Williamsport community while creating valuable hands-on learning opportunities for students.
Students in the district’s Culinary Arts Career and Technical Education (CTE) program have already begun utilizing the facility, providing catering services for events during the first three home football games of the season, including Friday’s grand opening celebration. Homeland Security CTE students have also contributed by assisting with crowd control and facility management.
Additional opportunities are planned for students in other CTE programs. Business students may eventually assist with managing event space reservations and operating a pop-up merchandise store, gaining practical experience in customer service, event management, and business operations.
Beyond its educational benefits, the facility also provides a space to celebrate the district’s rich history while creating new opportunities for current students.
“We wanted this to be a place where our alumni legacy could be preserved, but also a place where our current students can see and experience the opportunities available to them,” Bowers said. “Our students will benefit from this facility, and so will our community. It gives us an opportunity to connect the two and show the ‘why’ behind what we do as a district.”
The Millionaire Legacy Center was one of several improvements celebrated Friday. The district also recognized the completion of new tennis and pickleball courts, along with facility upgrades that include new restrooms, a training room, locker rooms, concession stands, a golf simulator, a film room, and a new press box.
Together, these projects represent the district’s continued investment in its athletic and community facilities, enhancing opportunities and experiences for students, families, alumni, and community members alike.
The Homecoming celebration continued Friday evening with a performance by the Marching Millionaires, a victorious night for the Millionaires football team, and the crowning of the 2026 Homecoming King and Queen.
The Millionaires look forward to hosting Military Appreciation night on Friday, October 9th.
