WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (September 1st, 2026) — Williamsport Area School District welcomed students back to classrooms Monday, Aug. 31, for the start of the 2026-27 school year. Students in grades K-9 returned Monday, while students in grades 10-12 joined them Tuesday, Sept. 1. The first days of school brought excitement throughout the district as students reunited with friends, met new classmates, and got settled into a new school year.

Students spent time getting familiar with their classrooms, teachers, schedules, and building routines. Teachers and staff welcomed students back and reviewed classroom and building procedures and expectations to help everyone start the year feeling prepared and ready to learn.

At Williamsport Area High School, freshmen also connected with their Link Crew leaders as they began their transition into high school. Upperclassmen who completed Link Crew training welcomed the incoming class, helped answer questions, and provided support as freshmen navigated their first days on the hilltop.

Across the district, students and staff are excited for a great year ahead and all of the opportunities  the 2026-27 school year will bring.
