WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (MAY 26, 2026) — This past weekend, several members of the WAHS Track & Field team traveled to Shippensburg University to compete at the PIAA Track & Field Championships. Despite challenging weather conditions, six Millionaires returned home with hardware after an outstanding weekend of competition.
Leading the way for the Millionaires was standout sophomore Tevin Williams, who capped off a sensational season by earning a PIAA silver medal in the long jump (24’3.5”) and a bronze medal in the 400-meter dash (48.20). Both performances also established new WAHS school records in those events. A week earlier at the District 4 Championships, Williams dominated the competition by capturing three gold medals in the long jump, high jump, and 400-meter dash. He continues to shine in both the jumps and sprints, showcasing the athleticism that has made him one of Pennsylvania’s rising track and field stars.
On the girls’ side, the Lady Millionaires distance program continued its impressive postseason run. Williamsport’s 3200-meter relay team battled through a highly competitive AAA field to earn a coveted spot on the podium with a strong late-race surge. Freshmen Loisa Hofstrom and Mila Veldhuis gained valuable experience competing at the state meet for the first time, while veteran leaders Isabelle Sanders and Madeline Sanders helped guide the relay squad to a medal-winning finish. Isabelle Sanders also earned an individual 6th-place state medal in the mile with a time of 4:51.95.
Senior Isabelle Morrow capped off an outstanding postseason by soaring to a new personal best and breaking the WAHS long jump record to earn a 7th-place finish and a spot on the state podium. The week before at the District 4 Championships, Morrow showcased her dominance in the jumps by winning gold medals in all three jumping events: the long jump, triple jump, and high jump. Isabelle will continue her track and field career next fall at IUP.
In total, the Millionaires brought home eight AAA State Championship medals. Those prestigious podium finishes, along with the outstanding performances from all of our state qualifiers competing on Pennsylvania’s biggest stage, highlighted the tremendous success and continued growth of the program throughout an exceptional spring season.
With record-breaking performances, multiple podium finishes, and a talented group of returning athletes, the future continues to look bright for the team.
