WASD Education Foundation Presents $8,228.61 to WAHS and Curtin OM Teams Headed to the World Finals

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (MAY 20, 2026) — The Williamsport Area School District Education Foundation (WASDEF) presented $8,228.61 to the Williamsport Area High School and Curtin Odyssey of the Mind (OM) teams, which will head to the World Finals at Iowa State University immediately following the Memorial Day holiday.
The education foundation was able to contribute a combination of donations designated for the teams from community members, area businesses, and its Annual Fund.
Advancing to the World Finals are Curtin team members Freya Allen, Evie Fisher, Felix Fisher, Flynn Moore, Lucas Morrow, Oliver Repella, and Anneliese Walter, coached by Spring Moore and Kat Walter. The team will compete in the Division I problem, “The Epic Quest,” after earning first place.
Also advancing are members of the Williamsport Area High School team: Ava Carter, Cooper Gutberlet, Brayden Harpster, Petrova Hinshaw, Rocco Mirabito, Mason Robinson, and Daniel Turner. The team will also compete in “The Epic Quest,” Division III. The WAHS team earned second place and is coached by Spring Moore and Kendra Reeder.
OM teams from WASD have found success at the program’s regional and state levels, earning coveted spots at the World Finals competition. Odyssey of the Mind is a competition that blends creativity, engineering, and teamwork. It is 100 percent student-directed, with adult coaches serving as guides.
