28 WAHS Students Earn Top 3 Placements in SkillsUSA Regional Competition; 7 Advance to State Round

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (FEBRUARY 5, 2026) — Thirty-five Williamsport Area High School students earned top finishes while competing in the District 6 SkillsUSA regional competition held Friday, Jan. 30, at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Competing against students from 15 other career and technical education programs (CTE) across the region, 28 WAHS students earned top-three finishes across 18 of 23 competitions. Seven students captured first-place titles and advanced to the SkillsUSA Pennsylvania State Competition, which will be held later this spring in Hershey.
Those earning first-place finishes at the competition were: Coleton Andrews in Carpentry; Sadie Bower in Medical Math; Sam Corter in Automotive Service Technology; Nick Delany in Fire Fighting; Brianna Heltman and Ashlyn Robinson in Emergency Medical Technician; and Isabelle Sanders in Related Technical Math.
Fourteen students earned second-place finishes: Bella Lehr and Aniyah Mitchell in Cake Decorating; Wesley Plocinski in First Aid/CPR; Gabriel Scrimshaw in Information Technology Service; Isobel Fike in Job Interview; Kyra Lichtenfels in Medical Terminology; Tim Lichter in Precision Machining; Lillian Gallagher, Khamya Moate and Adalynn Zellers in Promo Bulletin Board; and Jack Fortin, Jaxson March, Domenico Paternostro and Sylas Winder in Teamworks.
Seven students earned third-place finishes: Damir Baney-Bellinger in Medical Assisting; Nawal Elgabry in Basic Health Care; Maxwell Daily, Fantasia Galagarza and Ameera Minor in Crime Scene Investigation; and Jacob Loudenslager and Steven Eckman in Mechatronics.
SkillsUSA is a national organization that develops employability, leadership and technical skills through hands-on competition aligned with career and technical education programs.
WAHS offers 15 workforce development programs through its CTE curriculum, preparing students for both postsecondary education and in-demand careers.
