WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (JAN. 6, 2026) — The Williamsport Area School District has three new administrative appointments, now in effect, across federal programs, curriculum and instruction, and Williamsport Area High School.
Erin Brouse, a 22-year veteran of the district, has been named federal programs director, moving into the role from her position as academic recovery coordinator. She replaces Patricia Wylie, who retired.
Brouse began her career in education in 2001 as a third-grade teacher in the Wellsboro Area School District before coming to Williamsport as a first-grade teacher at Cochran Elementary School in 2004. Prior to her most recent role, she served as principal of Jackson Primary School, following earlier experience as a primary instructional coach and reading specialist.
She holds a master’s degree in education from Bloomsburg University and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Juniata College.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the district in this new role,” Brouse said. “Federal programs play an important part in supporting student success, and I look forward to working closely with staff to ensure resources are used effectively to meet the needs of all learners.”
Alicia Differ has been named secondary curriculum and K-12 unified arts supervisor, following her service as associate principal at WAHS. She replaces Kristin Takach, who resigned.
Differ began her career in education in 2012 as an alternative education teacher and residential secondary counselor at Diversified Treatment Alternatives in Lewisburg. Her experience also includes roles as a high school social studies teacher and dean of students at Shikellamy School District. Prior to joining the district in 2022, she served as high school principal at the Millville Area School District.
She holds a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Bloomsburg University and a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Pennsylvania State University.
“I’m excited to step into this role and continue supporting strong instructional practices across the district,” Differ said. “Curriculum and unified arts programs are essential to providing students with a well-rounded education, and I look forward to collaborating with teachers and administrators at all levels.”
Dr. Randy Zangara has been named associate principal at WAHS, replacing Differ. He brings more than 25 years of experience in education and administration and returns to the district after most recently serving as assistant superintendent at Keystone Central School District.
Prior to his work at Keystone, Zangara served as dean of college transitions and first-year initiatives at Pennsylvania College of Technology. His previous experience in the district includes roles as career and technical education director at the high school, principal at both WAHS and Curtin Middle School, and business education and instructional support teacher in career and technical education.
Zangara holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Immaculata University, a master’s degree in school administration from Duquesne University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lycoming College.
“I’m pleased to return to the high school and rejoin the Williamsport Area School District,” Zangara said. “This school community has a strong foundation, and I look forward to supporting students, staff and families as we continue to build on that work.”
Superintendent Dr. Timothy S. Bowers said the appointments reflect the district’s commitment to strong instructional leadership and continuity across schools and programs.
“These appointments reflect the depth of leadership within our district and our commitment to student-centered decision-making,” Bowers said. “Each of these administrators brings valuable experience and a strong understanding of our schools, and I’m confident they will have a positive impact in their new roles.”
