WAHS Students Earn Top Honors at Mock Constitutional Convention

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (DECEMBER 15, 2025) — Williamsport Area High School students recently participated in the annual mock Constitutional Convention (ConCon) at Pennsylvania College of Technology, earning multiple awards for excellence in debate and representation.
Thirty-three WAHS students, representing 10 states, competed alongside 230 student delegates to debate current constitutional issues. The event was coordinated by retired WAHS teacher Marilouise Mazzante.
Four resolutions written by WAHS students were selected for debate, with two advancing to the plenary session. Sophomore Calissa Reed had her resolution passed by a majority vote of the delegates in attendance.
WAHS students earned 19 Superior Delegate Certificates, and three state delegations received Superior Delegation Certificates for excellence in debate.
The delegation representing Hawaii — Michael Baier, Alex Owens, Dylana Richards and Logan Snauffer — earned the trophy for Most Accurate Representation for their portrayal of the beliefs and attitudes of their assigned state.
