WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (JANUARY 24, 2020) — Williamsport Area Middle School students donated $870.25 to the Williamsport Bureau of Police's K-9 Unit Friday morning.

Members of the school's Positivity Club and Builders Club raised the funds by collecting donated dog and cat treats to package and sell.

The students presented the check today to Chief of Police Damon Hagan and Assistant Chief of Police Mark Sechrist.

The WBP resurrected its K-9 unit recently, backed by significant funding from Ciocca Toyota of Williamsport. According to Hagan, Tacoma, a Belgian Malinois and German Shepherd mix, will soon graduate from K-9 training and officially join the force with his handler, Officer Tyson Minier.
