LVIS Penny War Check Pres

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (DECEMBER 20, 2019) — Thanks to a penny war challenge at Lycoming Valley Intermediate School, students did their part to help grant children's wishes, raising a staggering $3,005.16 for Make-a-Wish Foundation!

The penny war challenge initially was an attempt to earn the highest-raising classroom a pizza party, but the students decided to donate their hefty sum instead. Their initial goal was $1,000; they surpassed it by 200%.

Williamsport Area High School senior Zoe Wagner (pictured at right, center) accepted the check on behalf of the nonprofit, as Wagner's Disney concert earlier this fall at WAMS also raised $6,800 for Make-a-Wish.
