WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (SEPTEMBER 25, 2019) — Third-grade students from Mrs. Stacy Holt's classroom at Cochran Primary School are hoping to bring a little bit of comfort to pediatric cancer patients.

Taking what they've learned on composing friendly letters in the classroom, the students wrote to and made pillows to uplift the spirits of kids like them who are suffering as part of September's Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

The students presented their gifts this afternoon to Dr. Michelle Cavanaugh, whose 9-year-old daughter, Callie, passed away in 2018 from cancer.

Dr. Cavanaugh (pictured seated, second from right) plans to donate the students' gifts to a pediatric unit of her choosing.
