WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (MARCH 26, 2018) — Please be advised that extensive roadwork will begin in the Newberry section of Williamsport beginning Monday, April 1, and is expected to last through the end of August.

The construction work will have significant impact on travel.

  • West Fourth Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from the SR15 on/off ramp to Arch Street (Arch Street will remain open for north- and south-bound drivers) as PennDOT conducts roadwork. Pedestrians will still have access to sidewalks.
  • Beginning on or about April 1, the Williamsport Municipal Water Authority will begin replacing the main water line from Arch Street to Oliver Avenue.  Expect lane closures and flagged travel.  Pedestrians will be routed accordingly.

During these projects, bus pick-up/drop-off at Jackson Primary School will move exclusively to the west side of the building along Ridge Avenue. Parent pick-up/drop-off will remain the same.

Please note that during this period of time, buses may be delayed by a few minutes.
