The community came back to Curtin Intermediate School to help "kick it to poverty" tonight with the return of SOCKTOBERFEST.
More than 140 Curtin Intermediate School orchestra students came together today to perform Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" — live — as a post-concert activity in the school's gym. The students worked on the choreography of the performance since their May 3 spring concert.
The WAHS and Curtin Intermediate School Odyssey of the Mind teams placed 14th and 22nd, respectively, in the World Finals at Michigan State University.
Williamsport Area School District students recognized members of the board of education tonight in observance of School Director Recognition Month. Students recognized board members by presenting each with a book that they can first read and then return to the presenting students' respective school libraries.
Andrew G. Curtin Intermediate hosted its first #socktoberfest on Friday evening! The kickoff event helped launch the school's month-long sock drive that helps benefit Lycoming County's homeless population. The event had many free, family friendly activities, including a Bounce House, Sock-er Golf, a bike safety station with an obstacle course, a meet-and-greet with local homeless shelters and other community agencies, yard games, and art sessions. - Greg Hayes, WASD PR Director
The Harlem Wizards benefit basketball game hosted at Williamsport Area High School on Feb. 6 raised $11,240 for the WASD Education Foundation. More than 1,900 people attended the event.
