5.  FINANCE REPORT CONT’D:

 

5.3   Consider approving the annual school related organization liability insurance policy with Cincinnati Insurance Company at a cost of $942 (unchanged from last year).

7.3   Consider accepting the Inclusive Practices Mini-Grant in the amount of $49,473. This grant is provided through the Pennsylvania Department of Education and will be used to support professional development in inclusive practices.”

 L.   Carrie J. Bosch, 7908 Armstrong Rd., Muncy, as a half-time (½) temporary professional employee, effective October 31, 2008, to teach art education at the high school, at a salary rate of Step 1, bachelor’s, $39,250, prorated to ½ time (replacing Joel Ryder, resigned).

 

 M.   Brianna R. Nau, 2323 Riverside Dr., Apt. 5, S. Williamsport, as a temporary professional employee, effective November 6, 2008, as a full-time Guided Reading/4th Grade teacher at Cochran Elementary School, at a salary rate of Step 1, bachelor’s, $39,250, prorated (replacing Carey Taddeo, transferred to 5 th Grade at Cochran replacing Nicholas Kelley, transferred).

 

 N.   Michelle A. Camp, 1290 Cemetery Rd., Montoursville, as Business/Tax Office Accountant (245 days, 7 ½ hours per day) at the District Service Center, at a salary rate of $28,555, prorated ($15.54 per hour), effective November 5, 2008 (replacing Tia Magargle, resigned).

 

8.4*  POSITION CHANGES

 

  Consider approving the following position change(s):

 

 B.   Laura E. Kiess, 471 Kiess Hill Rd., Jersey Shore, from a general food service worker (3¼ hours daily) at Lycoming Valley Middle School, to a general food service worker (3 hours daily) at the high school, with a base wage rate of $10.56 per hour or contract rate, effective November 5, 2008 (replacing Thelma Eckman, transferred).

 

10.   STUDENT/COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES CONT’D:

 

10.1   Consider approving the following student trips cont’d:

 

E.   Seventy-one (71) gifted education students from all six District elementary school, accompanied by their teachers, a student teacher, and six parents, to travel to Penn College during November 2008 to attend a lecture and for lunch.

 

  District transportation is requested.

 

F.   Thirty (30) orchestra students from the District’s three middle schools, accompanied by their teachers, to travel to the Shamokin Area School District during November 2008 to participate in the PMEA District 8 Middle School String Festival.

 

District transportation is requested. Two substitutes will be needed for the day.

 

 

 

 

 

 

10.3   Consider approving the following request for facility use:

 

A.   Williamsport Symphony Orchestra (WSO) to use the auditorium at the Williamsport Area High School on November 14, 2008 from 6:30 pm until 10:00 pm to hold a rehearsal. WSO is requesting relief of the occupancy fee of $50.00. Certificate of Insurance to be received.

 

B.   Child Evangelism Fellowship to use a classroom at Jackson Elementary Schools, one day per week beginning November 2008 through April 2009, the hour after school is out, to hold a children’s religious education program. Child Evangelism Fellowship is requesting relief of the occupancy fee estimated at $300.00. Certificate of Insurance on file.
