Continuing Contact sessions to be held at the WASD Reading Recovery Training
Site during 2008-09.

One Bald Eagle Area SD teacher must have the Reading Recovery status
reactivated at a cost of $1,300 ($650 for the 2008-09 Reading Recovery
Continuing Contact costs plus $650 for the additional training that will be
required from the WASD Reading Recovery Teacher Leader).

salary of $83,189, prorated, and benefits as provided in the Act 93
Compensation Plan (replacing Bernadette Strong, retired).

Eric L. Clayton, 515 Orlando Ave., State College 16803, as a temporary
professional employee, effective with the 2008-2009 school term (scheduled date
is August 21, 2008), to teach Choral Music at the high school, at a salary
rate of Step 1, masters, $42,250 (replacing Anna Radspinner, transferred
to Roosevelt to replace Nathan Reed, resigned). Mr. Clayton will also be
scheduled to participate in Induction Program activities before the start of
the 2008-2009 school term.

Miranda J. Dincher, 501 Washington Ave., Jersey Shore, as a temporary
professional employee, effective with the 2008-2009 school term (scheduled date
is August 21, 2008), as a ½ Guided Reading and ½ Kindergarten
Teacher at Jackson Elementary School, at a salary rate of Step 2, bachelor's,
$40,250 (replacing Jill Robbins, transferred to replace Linda Wheeland,

Darcy L. Immel, 145 Long St., Spring Mills 16875, as a temporary professional
employee, effective with the 2008-2009 school term (scheduled date is August
21, 2008), to teach Mathematics at Lycoming Valley Middle School, at a salary
rate of Step 1, bachelor's, $39,250 (new position approved by the Board). Ms.
Immel will also be scheduled to participate in Induction Program activities

professional employee, effective with the 2008-2009 school term (scheduled date

retirement of Debra Nardi). Mr. Palmatier will also be scheduled to

21, 2008), to teach Mathematics at the high school, at a salary rate of Step 1,
bachelor's, $39,250 (replacing John Imrisek, retired). Mr. Pish will also be
scheduled to par-ticipate in Induction Program activities before the start of
the 2008-2009 school term.

Mary E. Rider-Dincher, 2845 Four Mile Drive, Montoursville, as a temporary
professional employee, effective with the 2008-2009 school term (scheduled date
is August 21, 2008), to teach Language Arts at Curtin Middle School, at a
salary rate of Step 2, masters, $43,250 (replacing Traci Marriott,
resigned).

employee, effective with the 2008-2009 school term (scheduled date is August
21, 2008), to teach Health and Physical Education at the high school, at a
salary rate of Step 1, bachelor's, $39,250 (replacing Jason Adams, resigned).
Mr. Steppe will also be scheduled to participate in Induction Program

Nadera F. Yancey, 1250 West Third St., Apt. 3, Williamsport, as a temporary
professional employee, effective with the 2008-2009 school term (scheduled date
is August 21, 2008), to teach 6th
Grade Social Studies at Curtin Middle School, at a salary rate of Step 1,
bachelor's, $39,250 (replacing Richard Hess, retired). Ms. Yancey will also be
scheduled to participate in Induction Program activities before the start of

Administrative Support I (245 day, 5 hours per day) for the Mail Room at the
District Service Center, with a base wage rate of $11.21 per hour, effective
June 30, 2008 (replacing Charles Hughes, transferred; position revised to
part-time).

assignment to be determined, for 3.5 hours per day, 5 days per week, plus one

Consider approving a contract with Delta Dental, One Delta Drive,
Mechanicsburg, to provide dental care benefits to eligible employees of the
Williamsport Area School District under a Cost-Plus rating method for the
2008-2009 school year calculated as follows: cost of claims incurred +
$4.05/month for each primary enrollee. Settlements under this arrangement will
be calculated monthly with weekly wire transfers.

Consider approving the following rates to provide life insurance and AD&D
coverage for eligible employees with Harleysville Life, effective July 1, 2008:

Consider approving a partnership between the James V. Brown Library and the
WASD Title I schools for parent training opportunities. The James V. Brown
Library will provide up to two parent workshops, at a maximum of $300 per
workshop, not to exceed a total of $600 per Title I school for 2008-09. All
funds are budgeted under Title I Parent funds for each Title I school.

Board Policy #902, Public Participation in Board Meetings:
A.
There will be two public comment sections: one during the first two hours of
the meeting at a time to be determined by the presiding officer; and the other
at the end of the meeting. This gives the presiding officer some flexibility
to fit the first public comment section into the agenda at a convenient time.
B.
Persons submitting a formal request to speak during the first public comments
section should be present promptly at the beginning of the meeting in the event
that they are invited to speak prior to commencement of the scheduled business
that is outlined in the agenda. Persons who have submitted a written request
will be given an opportunity to make a presentation about an issue that is on
the agenda when the issue is scheduled for discussion or about an issue that is
not on the agenda during the first two hours of the Board meeting, at a time
to be determined by the presiding officer.
C.
Each public comment section will be limited to a maximum of 20 minutes. Each
speaker will be limited to a maximum of five minutes.
D.
Those wishing to speak during the first public comments section must submit a
formal request in writing to the business administrator no later that 9:00 a.m.
on the day of the Board meeting. This gives people an opportunity to come to
the District Service Center on Monday before the Board meeting to read the
posted agenda.
