7.   CURRICULUM REPORT CONT’D:

 

7.7   Consider approving Alivia Tagliaferra, author/Williamsport Area High School graduate, to discuss her book Still the Monkey with Williamsport Area High School Psychology/

Sociology students on Wednesday, March 26, 2008. There is no fee.

8.1  RESIGNATIONS

 

Consider accepting the following resignation(s), effective on the dates and for the purposes indicated:

 

G.   Katherine E. Hoover, general food service worker at Jackson Elementary School, verbal resignation for personal reasons, effective March 11, 2008.

 

8.2  LEAVES OF ABSENCE

 

  Consider approving the following leave(s) of absence:

 

 C.   Robert J. Deitrick, part-time custodian at the high school, for an unpaid leave, effective February 18, 2008, through February 18, 2009, possibly to return sooner.

 

 D.   Jaumeal J. Dickerson, full-time Paraprofessional at the high school, for an unpaid leave on an intermittent basis (as needed), effective March 14, 2008.

 

8.3*  ELECTION OF STAFF

10.   STUDENT/COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES CONT’D:

 

10.1   Consider approving the following student trips:

 

  1. Fifty-six (56) gifted education students from Cochran, Hepburn-Lycoming, Jackson,

Round Hills, Sheridan and Stevens Elementary School, accompanied by their teachers and parent chaperones, to travel to 800 Park Place to conduct research on the historic landmark and to visit the Transportation Museum.

 

    District transportation is requested and will be paid through the gifted budget.

 

10.3   Consider approving the following requests for facility use cont’d

 

C.   Williamsport AYSO to use the Large Group Instruction room at Cochran Elementary School on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm to hold a parent meeting. Williamsport AYSO is requesting relief from the occupancy fee estimated at $25.00. Certificate of Insurance on file.

  1. Williamsport AYSO to use the gymnasium at Cochran Elementary School on

Wednesday, June 4 and Thursday, June 5, 2008 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm to

hold Fall registration. Williamsport AYSO is requesting relief from the

occupancy fee estimated at $80.00. Certificate of Insurance on file.

 

10.4   Consider approving the formation of a Middle School Cross Country Team. The team will operate in conjunction with the high school team, having practices and meets together.

 

11.  BIDS/CONTRACTS

 

11.3   Consider entering into an agreement with the Food Stamp Program to find the Healthy

  “Food Choices among 4th Grade Students” nutrition education program.
