7.   Best wishes to David Huffman and our thanks for his four years of service to the Williamsport Area School District.

 

7.   CURRICULUM REPORT CONT’D:

 

7.6   Consider approving a letter of agreement with the Coalition for Progressive Positive Action, CAPPA, to support the Academic Enrichment Program and Showcase rehearsals on Saturdays at Cochran Elementary School. Sheridan Project funding will support travel stipends for college mentors, busing to and from the Saturday program, and custodial costs associated with the use of Cochran on Saturdays.

 

8.   PERSONNEL REPORT CONT’D:

 

8.1  RESIGNATIONS

 

Consider accepting the following resignation(s), effective on the dates and for the purposes indicated:

C.   Richard E. Hofer, substitute school bus driver for the District, for personal reasons, effective October 29, 2007.

 

D.   Gwynn E. Shelley, regular part-time school bus driver for the District, for other employment, effective July 25, 2007.

 

8.3*  ELECTION OF STAFF  

 

  Consider the election of the following staff, for the purpose and on the date indicated:  

   

 L.   The following person as a non-certificated substitute teacher with receipt of an emergency permit, subject to assignment by the Superintendent of Schools, at the salary and/or rates as established by Board policy ($90 per day for first 45 days; $110 per day for days beyond the 45th day; up to a maximum of 180 days/year) and only for the actual number of hours assigned and worked during the 2007-2008 school year:

 

   Sharon R. Nevill    835 Memorial Ave., Williamsport

 

 

 

 

 

8.3*   ELECTION OF STAFF CONT’D:

   

N.   The following substitute administrative support/aides, subject to assignment by the Superintendent of Schools, at the hourly rates as established by Board policy (Administrative Support - $7.50/hr., Instructional Aide - $7.15/hr.; up to a maximum of 180 days/year) and only for the actual number of hours assigned and worked:

 

   Kelly A. Cornell    22 Rosemary Dr., Cogan Station  

   Sharon R. Nevill    835 Memorial Ave., Williamsport  

 

P.   The following substitute school bus drivers (non-bargaining unit personnel), with a base wage rate of $11.00 per hour, effective date as indicated:

   

   Richard Kaminski    242 Bennett Dr., Williamsport (effective 11/05/07)

   John W. Stokes    1710 W. Southern Ave., S. Wmspt. (eff. 11/14/07)

 

Q.   Gwynn E. Shelley, 110 Yeagle Rd., Muncy, as a regular part-time school bus driver for the District, with a base wage rate of $12.89 per hour, effective November 5, 2007 (replacing Bryan Baird, resigned).

 

10.   STUDENT/COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES CONT’D:

 

10.1*   Consider approving the following student trips cont’d:  

 

N.   Eighty (80) fourth grade students from Cochran Elementary School, accompanied by their teachers, to travel to the Thomas Taber Museum during November 2007.

 

There will be no cost to the District. The students will walk to and from the museum.

 

O.   Eight (8) Jackson Elementary School students, accompanied by their principal and PTO parents, to travel to Hoss’s during December 2007 as a reward for their sales in the fall fundraiser.

 

The students will be transported by limousine. All costs will be paid by the Jackson PTO.
