CURRICULUM REPORT CONTD:

Consider hiring one teacher to tutor after school Reading and one teacher to
tutor after school Mathematics for high school seniors who are preparing to
take the PSSA retest. Ten or more students must enroll in each section of the
after-school tutoring program at the Williamsport Area High School. Teachers
will be paid at the rate of $27.03 per hour plus appropriate benefits, up to
four days per week, 1.5 hour per day for up to a total of 12 hours. Funding
will be provided from the WAHS Project 720 grant award.

Consider approving Curtin Middle School to submit for the Youth Literacy Grant
offered by Dollar General Stores. The Dollar General Youth Literacy Grant
provides funding to schools and local nonprofit organizations to help with the
implementation or expansion of literacy programs for emerging readers.

Consider authorizing the submission of a Pennsylvania Department of Community

Economic Development grant application in the amount of $15,000 to provide
drainage improvements for the multipurpose field and play area adjacent to the
J. Henry Cochran Elementary School.

Consider authorizing an agreement with Rodney Bower, Linden, PA to provide a
sound
system for the October 5, 2007, pep rally at a cost of $600 to be paid with
student government
funds.
