7.4   Consider the payment of Student Assistance stipends to the following CARE Team representatives at the respective schools for the 2006-07 school year, at the stipend rate of $897 each (stipend positions were board approved 5/6/97); funding available from the Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities grant, account number 10-2120-131-870-00-000-000-009-0007

8.2  LEAVES OF ABSENCE

 

  Consider approving the following leave(s) of absence:

 

 B.   Scott E. Ferguson, Sr., auxiliary custodian for the District, for military leave       effective May 14, 2007, for a period of active duty not to exceed 400 days (as       reflected in orders), in accordance with Section 5159(14)(b) of the School District     Policy Manual and Act 174 of 1990. Mr. Ferguson will use available personal,      vacation and comp days before beginning his unpaid leave.

 

 

     

8.3*  ELECTION OF STAFF

 

  Consider the election of the following staff, for the purpose and on the date indicated:  

 

 F.   The following substitute teachers, subject to assignment by the Superintendent of Schools, at the salary and/or daily rates as established by Board policy ($90 per day for first 45 days; $110 per day for days beyond the 45th day; up to a maximum of 180 days/year), and only for the actual number of hours assigned and worked:

 

    Elizabeth S. Jackson    4350 Bloomingrove Rd., Williamsport

 

 H.   Dina M. Parker, 2411 Grand St., Williamsport, as a substitute food service worker, at the salary rate of $6.75 per hour, for the actual number of hours worked, effective March 19, 2007.

 

 I.   Rachel L. Scott, 3202 Route 973 East, Cogan Station, as a substitute health room technician, subject to assignment by the Superintendent of Schools, at the hourly rate established by Board policy ($9.00/hr.; up to a maximum of 180 days/year) and only for the actual number of hours assigned and worked.

 

J.   Victoria J. Guthrie, 1315 Cedar St., Montoursville, Health Room Technician at Curtin Middle School, to assist the nurse practitioner with after school athletic examinations for a total of 22 hours at the contract rate as provided in the collective bargaining agreement between the Williamsport Area School District and the Williamsport Area Education Support Professionals Association.

 

 K.   The following person to the position indicated for the 2006-2007 school year at the rates in accordance with the 2002-2007 Agreement by and between the Board of School Directors of the Williamsport Area School District and the Williamsport Education Association:

10.   STUDENT/COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES CONT’D:

 

10.1*   Consider approving the following student trips:

 

  All students must be in compliance with the school’s field trip disciplinary requirements

 in order to participate.

 

N.   One (1) student from Lycoming Valley Middle School to travel to Harrisburg to compete in the State MathCounts Competition during March 2007.

 

The student will be transported by their parents. Cost for participation in the event will be paid by MathCounts. Mileage will be paid by the Lycoming Valley Faculty Fund.
