7.   CURRICULUM REPORT CONT’D:

 

7.3   Consider approving an annual contract for the IEP writing software, DARTS for 2006/2007 school year in the amount of $15,400 to be paid from IDEA account # 10-1200-618-520-00-000-000-004-0007. This software allows special education teachers, administrators, and secretarial support staff complete necessary paperwork and child accounting information in compliance with IDEIA and Chapter 14 special education regulations.

 

8.   PERSONNEL REPORT CONT’D:

 

8.2  LEAVES OF ABSENCE

 

 Consider approving the following leaves of absence:

 

 E.   Robyn G. Weaver, part-time instructional support aide at Stevens Elementary School, unpaid leave for personal reasons, effective October 17-24, 2006 (this is a revision to a previously approved unpaid leave for October 19-23, 2006).

 

8.3*  ELECTION OF STAFF  

 

  Consider the election of the following staff, for the purpose and on the date indicated:  

 

 G.   The following persons as non-certificated substitute teacher with receipt of an emergency permit, subject to assignment by the Superintendent of Schools, at the salary and/or rates as established by Board policy, and only for the actual number of hours assigned and worked during the 2006-2007 school year:

 

   Mary Jo Caschera Campana     968 Hollywood Circle, Williamsport

   

 H.   The following substitute teachers, subject to assignment by the Superintendent of Schools, at the salary and/or daily rates as established by Board policy, and only for the actual number of hours assigned and worked:

 

    Erica L. Bischof      1825 Princeton Ave., Williamsport  

 

 I.   The following substitute administrative support/aides, subject to assignment by the Superintendent of Schools, at the hourly rates as established by Board policy, and only for the actual number of hours assigned and worked:

 

   Alicia M. Swanger       1998 Misner Rd., Williamsport

 

 

 

8.3*   ELECTION OF STAFF CONT’D:

 

 J.   Sharif D. Ali, 627 First Ave., Apt. 1, Williamsport, as part-time security at the high school, second shift, weekend and holidays or as needed, up to 8 hours per day, with a base wage rate of $10.94 per hour, effective September 9, 2006 (replacing John Westbrook, retired). Mr. Ali is also a substitute custodian for the District.

 

 K.   Rachel L. Scott, 3202 Route 973 East, Cogan Station, as a part-time (185 days, prorated; up to 5 hours per day) Health Room Technician at the high school, at the rate of $12.94 per hour (no benefits except social security, retirement, and worker’s compensation) and sick leave as provided for part-time employees per the Agreement between the Board and the Williamsport Area Support Personnel (WASP), effective October 4, 2006 (replacing Andrea Logan, transferred to a full-time position).

 

L.   Stephanie M. Pardoe, 242 West Church St., Lock Haven, as Extended Day Program Coordinator (180 day), effective October 4, 2006, at a salary of $33,278, prorated, and benefits as determined by the Act 93 Compensation Plan, effective

July 1, 2006. Ms. Pardoe holds a bachelor's degree from Lock Haven University (funded through EAP/Sheridan Project Grants).

 

8.6  OTHER

 

 A.   Consider approving additional work hours for James R. Lakes, 1020 Tucker St.,       Williamsport, part-time Equipment Manager (245 days, up to 5 hours per day) at the     high school, during the football season only, for an additional five hours each       week of a home football game and an additional ten hours each week of an      away football game.

 

10.   STUDENT/COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES CONT’D:

 

10.1   Consider approving the following student trips:

 

G.   Fifty (50) Williamsport Area High School students, accompanied by a staff member and other adult chaperones to travel to three football games during October 2006 to attend away football games. Students eligible to participate will not have been suspended from school more than five days; will have no bus disciplinary record; will be passing all major courses; and are not, in the judgment of their house principal, experiencing attendance difficulties.

 

District transportation is requested and will be paid for by the participating students.
