Consider the election of the following staff, for the purpose and on the date

emergency permit, subject to assignment by the Superintendent of Schools, at
the salary and/or rates as established by Board policy, and only for the actual
number of hours assigned and worked during the 2005-2006 school year:

5 days per week, plus one 30 minute building meeting each week beginning July
10 through August 4, 2006 at the rate of $26.22 per hour plus appropriate
benefits, plus up to three staff development days at $90/day prior to the start
of summer school. Employment is contingent upon participation in appropriate
professional development activities as well as student enrollment. All costs
are budgeted under Sheridan Project Grant:

Consider approving the following student trips contd:
M.
Fifteen (15) Williamsport Area High School students, accompanied by their
teacher, to travel to Penn College during May 2006 to participate in an
educational seminar by Senator Roger Madigan. Students eligible to participate
will not have been suspended from school more than five days; will have no bus
disciplinary record; will be passing all major courses; and are not, in the
judgment of their house principal, experiencing attendance difficulties.
There will be no cost to the District. The students will be transported by
their parents.

Approximately 8 students from Jackson Elementary School, accompanied by their
principal and PTO members, to travel to Hosss Restaurant during May 2006
as a reward for being top sellers in the school fundraiser. Students eligible
to participate must be in compliance with the schools field trip
disciplinary requirements.
The students will be transported by limousine. All costs will be paid by the
Jackson PTO.
O.
Forty-eight (48) fifth grade students from Sheridan Elementary School,
accompanied by their teachers and parent volunteers, to travel during May 2006
to the creek near the school to conduct water experiments. All students are
eligible to participate unless they have been suspended from school that day.
There will be no cost to the district.
P.
Twenty (20) Williamsport Area High School students, accompanied by their
teachers, to travel to Penn College during May 2006 to visit the plastics
department. Students eligible to participate will not have been suspended from
school more than five days; will have no bus disciplinary record; will be
passing all major courses; and are not, in the judgment of their house
principal, experiencing attendance difficulties.
District transportation is requested (10-1390-519-000-30-850-280-033-0000).
Two substitutes will be required for the day.
11. BIDS/CONTRACTS CONTD:

Consider authorizing the purchase of student handbooks in accordance with our
specifications and the following recommended award. All recommended awards are
based on the lowest bid meeting specifications.
A schedule of items to be awarded has been provided in lieu of a complete
tabulation.
Due to the extensive number of items and participating vendors on this bid it
is
impractical to provide a complete tabulation. A complete tabulation is
available in the
business office for viewing by any interested parties.
All bids were received by 1:30 p.m. and opened publicly in the District Service
Center at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2006.
RECOMMENDED AWARD:
Premier Agendas, Bellingham, WA was the low bid for all of the following
student handbooks:
High School Handbooks: $2.94/each (price includes customized handbook pages)
Middle School Handbooks: $2.66/each (price includes customized handbook pages
and vinyl pouches)
Elementary School Handbooks: $2.48/each (price includes customized handbook
pages and vinyl pouches)
