9.   PERSONNEL REPORT CONT’D:

 

9.3*  ELECTION OF STAFF  

 

  Consider the election of the following staff, for the purpose and on the date indicated:  

 

 F.   The following substitute teachers, subject to assignment by the Superintendent of Schools, at the salary and/or daily rates as established by Board policy, and only for the actual number of hours assigned and worked:

   

   Alexandria M. Benshaw  309 Union Ave., Williamsport

   Donna L. Berry    342 Henry St., Jersey Shore

   Victoria L. Killoran    1724 Four Mile Drive, 2-B, Williamsport

   Matthew A. Radspinner  1616 Whitman St., Williamsport

       

 G.   Maria N. Pulizzi, 1311 Elmira St. Williamsport, as a temporary professional employee, effective January 24, 2005, to teach Special Education at Curtin Middle School, at a salary of Level 1, Step 1, bachelor’s, $37,900, prorated. Ms. Pulizzi holds a bachelor’s degree from Shippensburg University and is currently certified in Mentally and/or Physically Handicapped, Elementary and Early Childhood (replacing Danielle Mogush, resigned).

 

 H.   Jennifer L. Conklin, 1217 West Central Ave., South Williamsport, extension as a long-term substitute teacher, effective with the start of the second semester of the 2004-2005 school term (scheduled date is January 24, 2005) through the end of the 2004-2005 school term (tentative ending date of June 10, 2005), unless terminated sooner, to teach special education at Stevens Elementary School, at a salary rate of Step 1, bachelor’s, $37,900 + $200, prorated. Ms. Conklin holds a bachelor’s degree from Lock Haven University and is certified in Special Education N-12 (replacing Kathy LaLota, on unpaid leave).

 

 I.   Joel Smith Ryder, 659 Miller Rd., Muncy, extension as a long-term substitute teacher, effective with the start of the second semester of the 2004-2005 school term (scheduled date is January 24, 2005), through the end of the 2004-2005 school term (tentative ending date of June 10, 2005), unless terminated sooner, to teach art education at Cochran Elementary and Alternative Education Schools, at a salary rate of Step 1, bachelor’s, $37,900, prorated. Mr. Ryder holds a bachelor’s degree from Mansfield University and is certified in Art (replacing Kevin Werner, transferred to the high school replacing Kathy Gorg on sabbatical leave).

 

 

 

9.6   MEMORIAL RESOLUTION – Mary Ann Baker

 

Consider adopting the following memorial resolution:

 

WHEREAS, the Board of School Directors of the Williamsport Area School District observes with profound sorrow the untimely passing from this life of Mary Ann Baker who for over two years was a dedicated school bus driver for the School District,

 

WHEREAS, the Board recognizes with respect and appreciation the devotion and time she gave to her colleagues, students, parents, and family, and the consideration she always showed them,

 

WHEREAS, the tragic loss of Mary Ann will be deeply felt by many for a long time; now, there be it

 

RESOLVED: that the Board of School Directors of the Williamsport Area School District tenders its deepest sympathy to her family in their bereavement, with the comforting knowledge that her life was well spent for the good of the students and teachers she guided and for her fellow man

 

FURTHER RESOLVED: that the members of this School Board direct that this resolution be spread upon the official minutes of this body and that a copy be presented to Mrs. Baker’s family.
