ITEMS FROM BOARD MEMBERS

The Special Meeting of the Board of School Directors of the Williamsport Area School District of which all members were duly notified and of which due public notice was given as required by Act 84 of 1986, was held on Tuesday evening, November 30, 1999, beginning at 7:15 p.m. in the Board of Directors’ Room, District Service Center, 201 West Third Street, Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

The President, David B. Stone, Jr., called the meeting to order with the following members:

PRESENT: Shirley L. Canada, Karen V. Harris, Pamela J. Markle, David B. Stone, Jr.,

Lois T. Williams, Thomas A. Zimmerman.

ABSENT: Richard C. Hostrander, James E. Temple, Gary L. Weber.

INVOCATION -- Silent Reflection

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: None

REOLUTIONS

Motion made by Mr. Zimmerman, seconded by Mrs. Williams to approve the adjudication from the quasi-judicial proceeding held earlier this evening.

The motion carried 5-1 with Ms. Canada voting no.

Motion made by Mrs. Williams, seconded by Mrs. Harris to authorize the execution of the Roosevelt Middle School Construction Contracts effective October 13, 1999. (Intent to award was authorized on 9/14/99).

The motion carried 6-0.

ITEMS FROM BOARD MEMBERS

President Stone announced the groundbreaking ceremony for the Vocational Education Project to be held on December 6, 1999 beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the auditorium.

President Stone announced an Executive Session to receive confidential legal advice from an attorney to follow the meeting.

Upon motion made by Mrs. Harris, seconded by Mrs. Williams and carried the meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
