1. BOARD PRESIDENT'S REPORT--Mr. David B. Stone Jr.

The Special Meeting of the Board of School Directors of the Williamsport Area School District of which all members were duly notified and of which due public notice was given as required by Act 84 of 1986, was held on Tuesday evening, November 17, 1999, beginning at 7:15 p.m. in the Board of Directors’ Room, District Service Center, 201 West Third Street, Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

The President, David B. Stone, Jr., called the meeting to order with the following members:

PRESENT:   Shirley L. Canada, Richard C. Hostrander, Pamela J. Markle, David B. Stone, Jr., James E. Temple, Gary L. Weber, Lois T. Williams, Thomas A. Zimmerman.

ABSENT:  Karen V. Harris.

President Stone welcomed Gregg McLanahan and Lou Verdelli from Public Financial Management and Bob Jones from Saul, Ewing, Remick and Saul who reviewed the outcome of the bond issue.

2. Motion made by Mrs. Markle, seconded by Mr. Temple, to approve the following resolution:

  The motion carried by a unanimous roll call.

3. Motion made by Mr. Weber, seconded by Mr. Zimmerman, to authorize the execution of the contracts and construction start   for the Vocational Education Project prior to receiving PlanCon Part G approval from the Department of Education.

The motion carried by a unanimous roll call.

Mr. Zimmerman introduced a class of students from Penn College who were observing the meeting.

The meeting recessed at 7:52 p.m. to continue the quasi-judicial proceeding.

The meeting reconvened at 9:21 p.m.

1. Motion made by Mrs. Markle, seconded by Mr. Weber, to approve the adjudication from quasi-judicial proceedings.

The motion carried 8-0.

Upon motion made by Mr. Weber, seconded by Mr. Hostrander and carried the meeting adjourned

9:22 p.m.
