  • PBS with a Punch

    AGC sent our students into break with a PBS revival! The new Millionaire Buck Menu was shared as were several sick beats from the Marching Millionaires. Every child who donated a canned good was given a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the Cinema Center. Our youth cheer squad brought the house to its feet as well! We are taking a great deal of momentum into break.

  • AGC Socked it to Poverty

    A select group of students from Andrew G. Curtin delivered over 14oo pairs of socks and toured several of the shelters in our city to gain a better understanding of the needs that exist. The experience was more than a photo-op, it was an opportunity to learn more and teach others the various ways we can help others. All a part of being responsible citizens.

  • Former Curtin Student Wins Beloved Community Council Essay Contest

    Williamsport Area Middle School student Aziya Camphor was named the winner of the Beloved Community Council's Essay Contest for Middle School Students. Students were invited to write an essay that expresses their interpretation of Martin Luther King Jr.'s meaning of the "beloved community."

  • WASD Holds Hiawatha Mural Dedication at Curtin

    An 11-year process to restore and reinstall 46 Hiawatha murals will be celebrated in a public dedication ceremony beginning at 5 p.m. on Oct. 1 at Curtin Intermediate School, 85 Eldred St.

  • Universal Free Breakfast Program Discontinued

    In order to reduce future losses in the district’s food service program, the Williamsport Area School District is discontinuing the Universal Breakfast Program beginning with the 2014-15 school year. The district will continue to offer a breakfast program, but those students who do not qualify for free or reduced lunches will need to pay $1 for breakfast.

  • Alternate Lunches and Money Collection Procedures

    To create a more active approach to collecting unpaid debt to minimize losses, the WASD administration restructured its debt collection procedures as it pertains to its School Lunch and Breakfast Program Charged Meal Policy.

  • A small number of Varicella (chicken pox) cases have occurred in the Williamsport Area School District.  Chicken pox poses a risk to those who are not immunized, those whose immune system is compromised, and individuals who are pregnant.  If your child develops a blister-like rash, please contact your family doctor and do not send your child to school.
