A small number of Varicella (chicken pox) cases have occurred in the Williamsport Area School District. Chicken pox poses a risk to those who are not immunized, those whose immune system is compromised, and individuals who are pregnant. If your child develops a blister-like rash, please contact your family doctor and do not send your child to school.
There is now a crossing guard stationed at the intersection of Market St. & Vernon Ave. The crossing guard will be there daily before school from 8:10 a.m. – 9:05 a.m. and after school from 3:15 p.m. – 4:05 p.m. to ensure the safe crossing of students coming and going from both Cochran and Curtin.
Students who need to re-enter the building for forgotten items will be able to do so until 4:00 p.m. Parents and/or students must alert a staff member upon entering the building after dismissal and may not enter a classroom unaccompanied.
Promptly at 4:00 p.m. each day, the school building will be locked. If parents or students need to enter the building after that time, please ring the buzzer. If a staff member is available, you will be permitted to enter the building.
