Cochran students will enjoy the storytelling adventures of the Beauty and the Beast Storytellers on November 19th. This dynamic story-telling duo will present sessions to the students during the day and host a parent workshop in the evening.

Hepburn-Lycoming students are gearing up to perform a school-wide musical assembly entitled, “Education Rocks”. Third and fourth grade students have been practicing for two weeks for the upcoming American Education Week. The focus for the assembly was chosen to meet science standards. Creatively, music teacher Sharon Freed and fourth grade teacher Trisha Bower have incorporated “rock” unit themes into the “Education Rocks” assembly. Students will be singing songs such as “Education Rocks”, Think, and Never Stop Learning, and will be reciting poetry. Students will even be wearing “rock” costumes.

Round Hills
students will
participate in a “Hats Off to Reading” program on Friday. During the day,
students will learn have wear their favorite hats during the day. At
3:15pm, students will gather in the hallways and take their hats off to
participate in a Read-In for 15 minutes.

Stevens
Elementary students have invited parents into their child’s classroom
on Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon. On Wednesday, will be given a
“student appreciation day”, which will award them with a day free of
homework. Also on Wednesday, the chorus will sing over the loudspeaker at
various times during the day.

Sheridan students can participate in a Family Read-In, inspired by the region’s great outdoors, and the theme is Penns Woods. On November 19th, families will be wrapping up in blankets and sleeping bags to read and have adventures including:

Jackson students will
participate in a new event every day of the week.
|

Roosevelt Student Council will
celebrate American Education Week starting on Monday, November 18th.
This is our opportunity to show our pride in Roosevelt and celebrate
learning. The week will be filled with Spirit Days and a homeroom contest
for canned tuna collected for the American Rescue Workers. The homeroom
that collects the most canned tuna will have their choice of a pizza or ice
cream sundae party. The contest will run through Friday. Spirit Days will
be held Tuesday through Friday. The homeroom with the highest daily
participation will receive glazed donuts the next day. There will also be
another “Candy Contest” in the library with a jar of gummy worms to
celebrate our love of books and our Accelerated Reading Program. Monday:
