Subject: New School Immunization Requirements
Beginning in the 2002-2003 school year, new students entering Kindergarten or first grade and students entering seventh grade must have Varicella (chicken pox) immunity, either from vaccination, history of disease, or laboratory testing.
In addition, students entering seventh grade must have three (3) doses of hepatitis B vaccine. Please note the new requirements are requirements beginning 2002-2003 school year. If your child has not been immunized properly, please make an appointment to do so now.
These new school immunization requirements are required under 28 PA Code Section 23.83. If you have any questions, please contact the Department of Health’s Division of Immunizations at 717-787-5681.
