Contributions from the Heart
The sophomore class organized a clothing and toy drive which provided
approximately 200 WASD students with a special Christmas treat. The drive was
initiated and organized primarily by Jachelle Yingling and Emilie Pearson, and
Cochran teacher, Lisa Yingling. Each student received one complete outfit,
one stuffed animal, and siblings of the students under 12 also received a
special gift.
Contributions for the drive came from sophomore class fundraisers and local area businesses. The Gund stuffed animal company donated 500 stuffed animals and Walmart provided a 10% discount with purchases for the toy and clothing drive. Sophomore students began the project in the beginning of November and distributed the gifts this week. Some of our juniors also made contributions to the cause.
On
behalf of the Williamsport Area School District, we would like to wish all of
our students and families a very safe, happy and heartfelt holiday season.

WASD bus driver, Bonnie Dibble, gave our students a special treat this
morning. She arrived dressed as Mrs. Claus and transported our students in
holiday fashion!
