An Honorary Breakfast
The students and employers participating in the Williamsport Area High School's community-based vocational training program will be recognized at an awards breakfast on May 16,2003, at the Radisson Hotel. Following the breakfast at the Radisson Hotel the students will visit Clyde Peelings Reptiland.
Students will receive lapel pins and be awarded certificates of completion. The employers of both paid and non-paid sites will also be recognized through certificates of appreciation. Parents and dignitaries from the Williamsport Area School District and community of Williamsport will be in attendance.
The Community based Vocational Training program is a real life employment learning experience that helps students build their success in the working world. The vocational Training Program is a non-paid school-to-work, job-shadowing program. Our students have learned through hard work what it takes to be successful in the working world.
The businesses in our community that are providing this valuable experience to our students are very special. They have been willing to have their employees give up valuable time to help our students learn skills necessary to survive in the working world. The businesses currently providing the training to our students in the vocational training (non-paid) are: Roseview Manor, American Rescue Workers, Susquehanna Health Care system, Econo Lodge, Sycamore Manor, Bill and Peg's Diner, Williamsport Home, Hampton Inn, Radisson Hotel and James V. Brown Library.
The businesses that have formed a partnership with us and are providing part-time paid positions for our Job Training program are: The Burger kings, Donut Deli, Radisson Hotel, Hossıs, K-Mart, McDonalds, Pure Country Dairy, Wal-Mart, Wendyıs, Williamsport Area School District, Trautner and Sons, Equinox, Masden Car Wash, Manhattan Bagel, Taco Belle, Franco's Lounge, JP Stone, Dino's, Friendly Restaurant, Phoenix Trim Works, Blaise Alexander Chevrolet, Wegman's and Green Lawn Memorial Park.
