TRANSPORTATION TO/FROM CAREGIVERS

The Williamsport Area School District recognizes that parents have a need to use babysitters/caregivers to care for their child(ren) before and/or after school.  Click on Transportation To/From Caregiver to determine if your child(ren) qualify for transportation.  This form must be re-submitted every year that this service is requested.

TRANSPORTATION  FOR  SPLIT CUSTODY

The Williamsport Area School district recognizes that some students have split living arrangements with divorced or separated parents.

For students whose parents have a custody agreement on file with the Courts, then click on Split Custody Agreement form.  This form needs to be completed and signed by both parents.  A copy of the Custody Agreement must be included with this form.  Return the completed form to the Pupil Transportation Department.  This form must be completed for every school year that this service needs to be in place.  Busing will be allowed only for those students eligible for busing.

For students whose parents do not have a Custody Agreement on file with the Courts, then click on Non-Guardian Residence form.  This form needs to completed by both parents and must be notarized for both parents.  Return the completed form to the Pupil Transportation Department.  This form must be completed for every school year that this service needs to be in place.  Busing will be allowed only for those students eligible for busing.

Please note that in either case, the primary residence of the child must be within the boundaries of the WASD.  Transportation will not apply to any Non-Primary Residence parent who resides outside the boundaries of the WASD.

NON-PUBLIC  SCHOOLS

The Pupil Transportation Department provides transportation to students residing within the boundaries of the WASD and attend a Non-Public School.  We currently provide service to 15 Non-Public Schools.  Children who attend a Non-Public School within the boundaries of the WASD or a Non-Public School that is located within 10 miles of the boundaries of the WASD will be bused if eligible.

To be eligible for transportation to a Non-Public School which meets the criteria above, a child must reside over 1.5 miles from the Non-Public School for Grades K – 6 and over 2.0 miles from the Non-Public School for Grades 7 – 12.

If your child is eligible for transportation, click on Transportation to Non-Public School and complete the form and return it to the Pupil Transportation Department.  This form must be completed every year your child will ride the School Bus.
