The Williamsport Area School District is committed to providing and opportunity for all students to develop a successful career path. The career path approach provides career exploration at the middle school level, and career preparation at the high school level.

We offer community education courses of interest to the community. Evening sessions are held during the fall and spring. Courses are available in a variety of areas such as computer education and clay studio.

Career Awareness - Grades K-6

As a part of the regular instruction during the elementary years, students develop an awareness of their own preferences in relation to a potential career. This includes a foundation for a positive attitude toward work and society with an understanding of workers in all fields.

Career Exploration - Grades 7-9

At the middle school level, students become familiar with career paths and clusters. Beginning with and assessment of their own interests and abilities, students gain experience in career decision-making and develop tentative career plans. These activities are concentrated in the Family and Consumer Sciences and Technology Education portions of the middle school program.

Career Preparation - Grades 10-12

Career preparation at the Williamsport Area School District includes 15 vocational education programs, or Programs for the Applied technology, approved by the Pennsylvania department of Education.
