CAPPA programs and projects are designed to move participants towards self-sufficiency and to enable them to become productive members of our community. CAPPA promotes:

Good self esteem

Youth Development and Empowerment Workshops

Anger and Stress Management
Internship Work Program (16 and older)
Dealing with Peer Pressure

Mentorship

Students from Lycoming College, Pennsylvania College of Technology and community volunteers provide mentor and support programs.

Academic Support Program

ASP provides supplemental services under the No Child Left Behind legislation.

Track academic and behavioral performance of each participant

Design and provide intervention and support when necessary to maximize school success and reduce drop-out rates

Monitor and Clean-up for Community Juneteenth Celebration

Basketball League Program

Ages 7-15

Summer Youth Employment Internship (Under Development)

Ages 15-18 from low and moderate income families
Collaboration with local businesses and organizations to enable unique workforce development opportunities

Young Artists in Action (Under Development)

Performing Arts Initiative
Target youth in elementary through high school who may not be sports oriented or not interested in other school activities
Hands-on experience in recording music and further artistic development

After School Homework Club 3:30pm to 5:00pm, walk-in and register
Boxing Tues and Thurs. 4:00pm to 6:00pm

Clinics start 11/15/04 from 4:30pm to 7:30pm

· Double Dutch Club (Spring Offering)

· Morning Program for Students: 7:00am to Bus Arrival

· Dance Team Mon and Wed. 6:00-7:30pm

· Open Gym: Friday from 3:30pm to 6:00pm (tentative times)

Free tutoring is offered in Math, Science, Social Studies, and English in grades 4-12 and College Introduction. This service is available everyday from 3:00pm to 10:00pm

After School Learning Center
Program Schedule:
Monday through Thursday from 3:00pm-5:30pm
Tutoring is provided by students from the Pennsylvania College of Technology and Lycoming College
Tutoring is available for students in grades kindergarten - 8th grade
Transportation is provided from Cochran, Stevens, Sheridan, Curtin and Williamsport Christian

The After School Learning Center offers tutoring to increase reading and mathematics skills and homework help, and dinner is provided at 5:00pm for all students who attend the program.
