Welcome to Fifth Grade! I am so excited to start the new school year with your child! I can't wait for all the wonderful adventures we will embark upon in the weeks and months to come. This year in Room 313, there will be math homework every night except Fridays. In order to grow as readers and thinkers, and to work toward meeting AR goals, everyone is expected to read at least 30 minutes every night. Students who consistently forget homework will be required to go to Tutorial during recess. Students who fail to meet AR goals will miss out on school-wide incentives throughout the year. We will focus on Science for half of each marking period and Social Studies for the other half. Homework for Science and Social Studies will be rare. For more information on specific subjects, please refer to the links listed on the left hand side of this page.
My goal this year is to help your child realize his or her dreams, and to lay the foundation of skills they will need to achieve those dreams.
